SALECINA

SALECINA
Salecina is a self-managed holiday and educational center located in Maloja, in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. Founded in 1972 by left-wing activists, it provides a space for politically engaged people to meet, exchange ideas, and spend holidays together. The center serves as a meeting place for people of different generations and nationalities who are interested in social justice, environmental issues, and social alternatives.

The center operates on principles of grassroots democracy and is collectively managed. Guests participate in tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and organizing events. Salecina positions itself as an alternative to commercial tourism, focusing on sustainability and a solidarity-based economy. In addition to leisure activities, the center hosts workshops, seminars, and cultural events addressing topics such as ecology, feminism, anti-racism, and global justice issues.

We will eventually eat the rich. Promise...

...but in the meanwhile, please do not hesitate, if you have the financial possibilities, to pay a higher overnight price. Salecina is leftist and non-profit. And as so often in this case: money is needed to sustain the place, its philosophy and its projects. If you cannot pay the rates for the overnight stay or the travel costs to Salecina, Rondewu has a solidarity fund. Please do not hesitate to use it and contact us for financial support. We do not want money to be a reason for exclusion.
